We did use the valet which was 45 dollars which was fine but somehow our bill went from 150 to 267?! And we didn't have extra room charges and our ending bill we got was 196 but charged 267 on our card?! We will never stay here again what a joke.Īh sounds like some confusion over the check in hold that hotels do keeoshah. No coffee maker in the room just beer in the fridge and snacks on the table all of which you have to pay outrageous price for which we already had expected and didn't use but not even a coffee pot in the room for in the morning? If we wanted coffee we had to go downstairs and get it before 9. We stayed one night and 30 minutes before check out we got a knock on the door with a lady asking us if we were leaving that day then said okay well your checkout is in 30 minutes. Seeing all of the accomodations we were excited to stay here but first thing is to take our dog to the bathroom we had to walk four blocks to a park also its says vip for pets but not even a dog bowl in our room like we were told so I'm glad I brought some then we left a jacket at the front desk which they had a room for tagged and numbered when we came back for it they said they were about to throw it in recycling. We reserved a corner king and told them we had a dog they said it would cost us 105 for our room and after taxes be 150. This hotel would be my first choice next time we return to Portland! ps - bookings do not include the nightly occupancy/state lodging tax and so you need to factor that in when you are considering your nightly rate!!!! Don't be caught by surprise :) The beds were comfy (only suggestion is that queen beds would be even better!), and I thought it was a really nice touch to be able to request a different type of pillow. The location was great for exploring the downtown area, the decor was cool and inviting and we would not hesitate to come back! The Happy Hour free beer and kombucha was a nice touch, as was the complimentary evening hot chocolate. In our overall group there were 4 children under 11 and we really appreciated that the kids were allowed to be kids (within reason) and we were not made to feel they were unwelcome. We really felt the staff made a genuine effort to ensure we had a great experience. Of particular note were the excellent front desk and concierge/valet staff who were friendly, professional and who offered great suggestions for local restaurants. Negative: Expensive, staff could be better, walls thin.Ī small number of those who stayed at The Westin Portland said the rooms were too expensive, as was the valet parking, while some guests said the staff could be a bit more friendly and helpful with recommendations, with a few even calling them rude.
